Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

DocumentLearn ("we," "our," "us") runs an educational training platform for document control skills. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain English on purpose — if anything is unclear, that's a bug in the policy, not in your understanding of it.

Information we collect

We keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run and improve the site:

  • Usage analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand which pages get visited and how the site performs. This is privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics — it tells us things like "how many people opened this scenario," not who you are individually.
  • Course and simulator progress. Your progress through courses, quizzes, and the EDMS simulator (Vault) is stored in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device — it is not transmitted to our servers or visible to us.
  • Account information, if you create an account. DocumentLearn does not yet have user accounts or logins. If we introduce accounts (for example, to save your progress across devices or manage a paid plan), we'll collect an email address and the minimum information needed to authenticate you and manage your subscription. This section will be updated before that feature launches.

Cookies and similar technologies

DocumentLearn currently does not run advertising, and we do not use invasive tracking cookies. What we do use:

  • Local storage (a browser technology similar to cookies) to save your course progress, quiz scores, and simulator state directly in your browser, as described above.
  • Analytics scripts (Vercel Web Analytics) that may use lightweight, privacy-respecting techniques to measure aggregate site usage.

Looking ahead: DocumentLearn does not currently show ads. If we enable advertising in the future — for example, through Google AdSense — our advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. If and when that happens, you'll be able to control ad personalization through your browser's cookie settings and, where applicable, through Google's Ads Settings. We'll update this section with specifics if and when advertising goes live.

How we use information

We use the information above to operate the site, understand how people actually use the courses and simulator, fix what's broken, and decide what to build next. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers named below, who process it on our behalf.

Your data, your browser

Most of what makes your experience "yours" — course progress, quiz scores, EDMS simulator state, any personalization like renaming the training's characters — lives entirely in your browser's local storage. We never see it on our servers. You can clear it at any time:

  • Using your browser's settings to clear site data for documentlearn.com, or
  • Using in-product reset controls where available — for example, the EDMS simulator includes a "Reset Project" option that clears its own local state.

Third-party services we use

  • Vercel — hosts this site and provides Web Analytics and Speed Insights.
  • Google AdSense (in the future) — if we enable advertising, Google may use cookies to serve and measure ads, as described above.
  • A form delivery service (once our Contact page is live) — used only to route messages you send us to our inbox; it is not used for anything else.

Children's privacy

DocumentLearn is intended for working professionals and learners preparing for a career in document control. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can use most of the site without providing any personal information at all. You can block or limit analytics using your browser's privacy settings, ad blockers, or "Do Not Track"-style extensions — the site will continue to work normally. Once accounts exist, you'll also be able to request deletion of any account data we hold.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves — for example, when accounts, payments, or advertising go live. We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever we do. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
