Terms of Service

Last updated: July 15, 2026

These terms govern your use of DocumentLearn. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use DocumentLearn. We've tried to write these in plain language rather than dense legalese, while still covering what a set of terms needs to cover.

What DocumentLearn is

DocumentLearn is an educational training platform for document control skills. It teaches through scenario-based practice and a simulated EDMS (Electronic Document Management System) called Vault, rather than passive video lectures. It is training material, built to help you build real, transferable skills.

Acceptable use

You agree to use DocumentLearn for your own learning, and not to:

  • Copy, scrape, redistribute, or resell course content, scenarios, or simulator material;
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying code or content structure beyond normal browser use;
  • Use the platform to build a competing product or service;
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its infrastructure;
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.

Intellectual property

All course content, scenario text, simulator design and code, and DocumentLearn branding are owned by DocumentLearn (or licensed to it) and protected by applicable intellectual property law. When you use DocumentLearn, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the content for your own learning. You may not redistribute, publish, or commercially exploit any part of the platform's content.

Not a professional certification

DocumentLearn is training material designed to build practical, job-ready skills. Completing a course, module, or scenario — including any certificate of completion the platform may offer — is not a professional certification, an accreditation, or a guarantee of employment. It reflects practice completed on this platform, not an assessment by any employer, industry body, or regulator. Always follow your own employer's or client's specific procedures, which take precedence over anything taught here.

Payments and refunds

Some features of DocumentLearn are, or will be, offered as paid plans. Where a paid plan is available, its price and billing period will be shown clearly before you pay. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider; DocumentLearn does not store your full payment card details. Refund eligibility, where offered, will be stated at the point of purchase or in a dedicated refund policy; absent a more specific stated policy, paid access is non-refundable once the corresponding content has been substantially accessed. This section describes our general approach and will be made more specific once paid plans are live.

Disclaimer of warranties

DocumentLearn is provided "as is." We work to keep it accurate, available, and useful, but we don't guarantee the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly suited to every learner's specific circumstances.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DocumentLearn will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site — including lost opportunities, lost data, or employment outcomes. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the amount, if any, you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these terms. You may stop using DocumentLearn at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves — for example, when accounts or paid plans launch. We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever we do, and material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
